Mloyiswa flooring has superior wood flooring for the best values. We provide an assortment of wood floors including quality reclaimed parquet flooring. The benefit of reclaimed parquet is that you know that it has been successfully used first time round! Our parquet usually comes from large public buildings constructed from the 1920s onward. This was when well-grown, slow-grown timber was readily available. The quality and character of the wood therefore can be exceptionally good. It is sustainable flooring, and even better, the blocks can be wood types which are no longer commercially available.
Parquet flooring can be made from both solid, and engineered wood nowadays, although originally it would have been made from 100% solid wood.
They can be from species which are now considered vulnerable or critically endangered. This gives them rarity value too so enhance your space with the natural beauty of parquet flooring. The underside always has bitumen on them. However if you use a modern flooring adhesive to bond with bitumen then it is not normally necessary to clean the underside bitumen off. The blocks may have marks, scratches or scuffs, and some will be a few millilitres thicker than some which is to be expected with reclaimed parquet. All of these minor faults are mainly sanded out at the end of the process of installation and you should expect that. It is the character that you get from reclaimed wood.
